NLSC Members attend Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Day) Celebration

The images that often portray the Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) are skeletons and colorful skulls that resemble Halloween. Unlike Halloween, one of America’s most profitable and celebrated holiday, Dia de los Muertos, rooted in Catholicism, is celebrated throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America on November 1stand 2nd and commemorates deceased family members and friends.

Do you speak English and another language? Are you looking for ways to use your language skills to make a difference in your state, your nation, or your world? If yes, then the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) may be for you. The NLSC is a group of service-minded individuals who make themselves available when there is a sudden, short-term need for language skills in support of any U.S. government agency. The NLSC welcomes speakers of all languages. Learn more about the NLSC and apply today!

As of January 2nd 2013, the NLSC is a permanent government program and continues in fulfilling its mission of maintaining a readily available group of on-call language-capable Members who provide foreign language support to requesting federal agencies.
